 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine. ARREST OF SELF-KIDNAPPER AND ACCOMPLICE

RECOVERY OF TWO MILLION NAIRA (#2,000,000) RANSOM


The command on 2/1/2025 received a complaint from One mrs Oliko Joy that her daughter Princess Okolie left the house on 30th December 2024 and did not return. The next day, the parents received a call that the daughter had been kidnapped and they demanded a ransom of two million naira. The Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda immediately directed the command’s special Anti-kidnapping and cyber-crime squad to ensure that the victim is rescued unhurt and the suspect arrested. 


The commander special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad CSP Labe Joseph detailed operatives who embarked on an intelligence-led investigation. The other suspect, Prince Atigbi, was arrested after collecting a ransom of two million naira (#2,000,000). Upon the arrest of the suspect, he stated that he was not an actual kidnapper but was playing the script of his girlfriend Princess Okolie. The girl was arrested, and she said that she faked her kidnap so that they could get money from her parent. Both suspects are in custody, the ransom money recovered and the investigation is ongoing.


The Commissioner of Police urges parents and guardians to take the upbringing of their children seriously and in the ways of God so that when they grow up, they won’t be a problem to their parents and society.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
