The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

(EFCC) has summoned two sons of prominent billionaire industrialist, Razaq Okoya, for questioning over alleged naira abuse.

Subomi and Wahab Okoya were captured in a viral video engaging in actions that violated currency handling regulations by mishandling the Nigerian naira note.

A letter signed by the acting Director of the EFCC Lagos Directorate, Michael Wetkas, instructed the duo to appear before the commission's special operations team at its Lagos office on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Meanwhile, Subomi Okoya had issued a public apology on his X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing regret and claiming ignorance of the fact that abusing the naira is a punishable offence.
