 President Tinubu arrives Enugu, commissions multiple projects President Bola Tinubu on Saturday visited Enugu State where he commissioned multiple projects. This is his first official trip to the state since assuming office on May 29, 2023. He was accompanied by top dignitaries, including the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi. He arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, in the afternoon from where he proceeded to various locations within the State capital. In the Coal City State, Tinubu inaugurated some projects embarked upon by the Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah-led administration. Tinubu inaugurated smart green schools, rural roads, and 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras, equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres out of the 260 under construction across the 260 wards in the state.  Hadari FC Wins 4th Ogazi Unity Cup Competition, Gets ₦300,000 Cash Prize 


A grassroots football cup, Hadari FC have won the 4th edition of the Ogazi Unity Cup Competition in Kokona East Constituency of Nasarawa State and received ₦300,000 as cash prize. 


The defeated Maisauri FC through penalty shootout on Wednesday to emerge as champions of the competition organized by a high ranking member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, NSHA, Mr. Daniel Ogah Ogazi. 


Maisauri FC came 2nd got ₦200,000 cash prize and Poka Junior FC went home with ₦150,000 cash prize for sealing the third position. 


A total of 11 football teams across the electoral wards of Kokona East Constituency participated in the 4th edition of the competition. 


Speaking at the grand finale, Mr. Daniel Ogah Ogazi said he organized the competition to promote peace and unity amongst youths and other constituents. 


The grand finale had in attendance dignitaries notably the Speaker of the State Assembly, Mr. Danladi Jatau and other members who lauded their colleague over the initiative.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
