Honoring a Legacy: The State Funeral of Jimmy Carter

The funeral proceedings for Jimmy Carter, who passed away last month at the age of 100, have commenced with a week-long series of events. Starting on Saturday, a motorcade transported Carter’s body from Plains, Georgia, his hometown, to Atlanta, where he will lie in repose for a few days before being moved to Washington, D.C. for additional ceremonies.

After the services conclude, Carter will be laid to rest in Plains beside his late wife, Rosalynn, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 96. This extended tribute marks the final chapter of a life dedicated to public service, and it reflects the profound respect and admiration Carter earned throughout his remarkable career.
