 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

 ‘Japa’: Don’t run away from your responsibilities, Jonathan tells Nigerians


Former President Goodluck Jonathan has asked Nigerians to keep hope alive in the face of daunting challenges in the country, expressing optimism that they are surmountable.

He spoke at the weekend in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, during  the commissioning of the Soybean Plant and Refinery of the CSS Group, and birthday celebration of  Prof. John Kennedy Opara, former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).


The event was attended by former President of Sierra-Leon, Ernest Bai Koroma; Bayelsa State governor, Duoye Diri; former governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade; former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen and Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by his deputy, among many others.

Jonathan said the countries Nigerians have been running to, were built by people, hence the need to stop the “Japa” trend.



He said, “You don’t need to Japa. Those countries you are running to were built by people. We must build this country together, and invest in it so that the youths can get jobs. We must not run away from our responsibilities. This country belongs to all of us, and we must not abandon it.”


Similarly, Bayelsa State governor, Duoye Diri, said, “There is hope in Nigeria. So those who want to Japa, please, don’t Japa. Nigeria is a blessed country. If we all key into what the private sector is doing, no one will Japa.”

In his remarks, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, however, said, “The level of hunger in Nigeria is too high due to very high food price inflation”, stressing that the federal government must take urgent steps to nip the situation in the bud.


He said, “Accelerated efforts are needed to expand food production, lower the price of food commodities, eliminate food import dependency, and support local farmers in Nigeria, to feed Nigeria.

“There is no doubt that Nigerian farmers can feed Nigeria. They did when I was Minister of Agriculture under President Jonathan. The price of rice at the time was N8,000 per bag; today it is over N100,000 per bag.

“Nigeria should have bold programmes and policy support for its farmers. It should also provide incentives for agribusinesses to support agricultural value chains, from food production to processing, value addition, packaging and market supply.”


Adesina disclosed that the African Development Bank and its partners were supporting the federal government of Nigeria and implementing a $538 million programme for the development of special agroindustrial processing zones in 8 states in the country – Cross Rivers, Imo, Oyo, Ogun, Kaduna, Kano, Kwara and the FCT.

“The second phase of the special agro-Industrial processing zones will cover all remaining 28 states in Nigeria. The SAPZ-Phase II is planned with a financing target of $1 billion, from the African  Development Bank, the Arab Bank for African Economic Development and the private sector,” he added.


On his part, Koroma said, “If positive things happen in Nigeria, we are happy because Africa can only get it right when Nigeria gets it right.”

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
