Segun Arinze hints at returning to music. Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze, has explained why he left the music industry. Featuring in a recent episode of ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Arinze stated that he didn’t leave music because he failed at it but to focus on acting. “I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued. “I read theatre art at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. I left school, I did well. I went into my music on my own volition. When I decided to concentrate on my acting career, I concentrated on my acting,” he explained. However, he explained that his return to music wouldn’t be for commercial purposes but for passion. “I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. I’ve two albums. I suspended it [my music career]. RETIRED JUDGE INSISTS LPDC, NBA MUST ADDRESS PETITION AGAINST SENIOR LAWYERS. (PHOTO).

A Retired Justice of the Federal High Court, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, has accused the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) of not treating petitions against senior and powerful lawyers.

He spoke exclusively during the weekend to newsmen.

The retired judge also said the issue of conflicting judgements is because of a lack of synergy and communication among judges.

“I believe that there should be a situation where judgements are circulated all over,” he said.

“The LPDC, that committee is not working the way it should work when it comes to things like that.

“We have seen cases involving very senior lawyers and petitions are written, the thing will not see the light of the day. The NBA must rise up to this occasion to make sure that lawyers, no matter who, the heavens will not fall. Let us open the backside of the ostrich or the turkey and let people see what A or B are doing. If it’s a disservice to the legal profession, the NBA must say something about it,” he said.

“Don’t let’s deceive ourselves, the NBA is not doing enough, especially when it comes to very senior lawyers, they won’t do anything. It’s a matter of rub my back, I rub your back. It’s a matter of ‘you cannot offend so and so’. Why can’t you offend so and so? If the person is going to rubbish your profession, you must be able to tell the person what you are doing is wrong.”
