 PRESS RELEASE SERVICE DELIVERY: PRESIDENCY HONOURS NPF AS MOST IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY PARASTATAL OF YEAR 2024 AS IGP REITERATES COMMITMENT TO BETTER SERVICE The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, today, 14th January 2025 received the award and commendation for the Nigeria Police Force as the Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal (SERVICOM Unit) in Nigeria for the year 2024. The award was presented to the IGP by the National Coordinator/CEO SERVICOM Presidency, assisted by other SERVICOM staff from the presidency. Mrs. Nnena Akajemeli in her address made it known that the strides the NPF has taken in recent times to ensure proper service delivery are nothing short of remarkable as regards the service charter and workplan on customer service in the year 2024.  Cristiano Ronaldo Set to Become the Highest-Paid Player in History with New Al Nassr Deal


Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to extend his contract with Al Nassr, a deal that will make him the highest-paid player in football history.


The new contract is expected to be worth £173 million per season, solidifying the 39-year-old striker’s position as one of the sport's most lucrative talents.


Ronaldo's current contract is due to expire in the summer, but he seems keen to continue his career with Al Nassr, despite being linked with other clubs, including Al-Hilal, where Neymar Jr. plays.


Sources indicate that Ronaldo is not looking to join Al-Hilal, but rather to compete against them.


Additionally, Ronaldo is seeking assurances from Al Nassr regarding significant spending in the upcoming summer transfer window.


Since joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo has scored 81 goals in 90 appearances, adding to his goal-scoring legacy after becoming a centurion at previous clubs Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
