 NFF has formally petitioned FIFA over allegations that the DR Congo fielded ineligible players during their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff encounter   Speaking with journalists at an event on Tuesday, Mohammed Sanusi, NFF general secretary, accused the Congolese FA of deceiving FIFA into clearing players for its national team despite their status contravening the country’s citizenship laws. Sanusi said DR Congo laws established that “you cannot have dual nationality”, adding that several members of the Leopards squad at the playoffs have both European and Congolese passports. He said the DR Congo FA was “fraudulent” in its registration of the players, and the NFF has submitted a petition to FIFA to investigate the matter.   “FIFA cleared the players because FIFA’s eligibility rule is different from DR Congo’s rule. S. A: FOUR LESOTHO NATIONALS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED ABD CHARGED WITH THE TRIPLE MURDER OF THREE MEN . (PHOTO).

 Four Lesotho nationals, Mosweu Letsie (32), Tumisang Khoachone (21), Tshidiso Mohloboli (18), and Itumeleng Mosweunyane (24), have been arrested and charged with the triple murder of three men aged between 25 and 38 in Kanana.


The incident occurred on Saturday, 18 January 2025, at a tavern in Extension 3, Kanana, where a fight broke out between two groups of Basotho nationals. One group overpowered the other, kidnapped five victims, and took them to the nearby Schoonspruit River, where they were assaulted. One victim escaped, four were thrown into the river, and three went missing.


The four suspects appeared before the Orkney Magistrates' Court on Monday, 20 January 2025, and were remanded in custody until Monday, 27 January 2025, for a formal bail application.
