 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  SAHCO Dismisses Staff Over Passenger Extortion at Lagos Airport


Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) has terminated the employment of a staff member implicated in passenger extortion and harassment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.


The incident, reported in December 2024, involved Oyewale Oyesiji, a first-time traveler and automobile engineer from Osun State, who alleged he was extorted of ₦100,000 by airport staff in collusion with SAHCO personnel.


Following the allegations, SAHCO launched an investigation, confirming the misconduct. The company immediately dismissed the staff member in line with Nigerian labor laws.


A source revealed that SAHCO plans to engage with the affected passenger to provide updates and emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining professional standards and zero tolerance for misconduct.


SAHCO’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Vanessa Uansohia, reiterated the organization’s stance, condemning any unethical behavior. She assured that the incident does not align with SAHCO’s values and that thorough investigations are underway to prevent future occurrences.
