KADIRS Warns Residents Against Fake Revenue Collectors, Introduces E-Demand Notice As Sole Payment Authorization The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has cautioned taxpayers and residents of Kaduna State against making revenue payments without first obtaining an official E-Demand Notice (Pay Advice), warning that fraudsters may exploit outdated payment processes to defraud the public. In a public announcement issued on Thursday, KADIRS said the move forms part of its ongoing efforts to automate revenue collection and enhance transparency across the state.  The agency disclosed that manual demand notices previously used for Local Government revenue collection have been phased out and are no longer recognized.  Industrial Court Rejects Injunction to Halt Accountant General Appointment

The Industrial Court of Nigeria, presided over by Justice Rekiya Haastrup in Abuja, has declined an interlocutory injunction seeking to halt the appointment process for a new Accountant General of the Federation. The court ruled on Wednesday that the issues raised in the application would be addressed in the main case, making an injunction unnecessary.

The claimant, Joshua Kadmi Luka, represented by his attorney, Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, requested an expedited hearing due to the case's significance and timing. Justice Haastrup subsequently adjourned the matter to March 25, 2025, for further proceedings.

Speaking to journalists after the session, Angulu explained the court’s decision, stating, “We applied for an injunction, but the judge declined, citing public interest and the need to avoid a leadership vacuum.”

Luka, a Director in the Federal Civil Service, filed the case after being excluded from the selection process for the Accountant General role, reportedly due to fraud allegations. His legal team argued that mere allegations without a conviction should not disqualify him from consideration.

In a letter to the Office of the Head of Service, Luka’s counsel emphasized that he has not been found guilty of any crime and is entitled to the presumption of innocence under Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution. They described his exclusion as unjust, asserting that it amounts to punishment for an unproven allegation.
