 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine.  NMDPRA Seals Seven Fuel Stations in Kogi for Under-Dispensing


The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has shut down seven fuel stations in Kogi State for under-dispensing fuel and unauthorized branding.


Kogi State NMDPRA Coordinator, Ogbe Godwin, announced the enforcement action at a press briefing in Lokoja on Thursday.


He condemned the act, stating, “We are not stopping marketers from selling at their own price, but cheating consumers will not be tolerated. Under-dispensing fuel is a serious offense, and violators will face legal consequences.”


Following inspections of 50 fuel stations in the state, seven were found guilty of under-dispensing and ordered to pay penalties to the federal government. The affected outlets include:


-Solag Resources Limited (Ankpa)

-Hismus Oil and Gas (Obajana)

-Riyenic Global Limited (Oke-Ibukun, Kabba)

-S.O.T Nigeria Limited (Omuo Kabba)

-Marktot Oil and Gas (Kabba) - for unauthorized branding

-NIPCO Filling Station (Phase 1, Lokoja)


Additionally, four filling stations in Ankpa were shut down for operating without a license. These include:

-Absala Oil and Gas

-Yak Ali Oil and Gas

-Yamuda Nigeria Limited

-Hanimat Nigeria Limited


Godwin warned that unregistered operators should comply with licensing regulations or face legal action, emphasizing that the government will not allow any acts of sabotage in fuel distribution.
