 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  16 Burnt to Death, Three Injured in Ogun Road Accident


At least 16 people were burnt to death, and three others sustained severe injuries in a lone accident on Tuesday at Buhari Estate along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, Ogun State.


The crash involved a white Mazda bus (KJA 949 YJ) carrying 21 passengers when a fire outbreak led to an explosion, reportedly caused by a filled gas cylinder inside the vehicle.


According to Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the victims were burnt beyond recognition, making it difficult to determine their gender.


FRSC operatives from the Abeokuta Sector Command carried out the rescue operation, confirming that 16 people died, three were injured, and two escaped unharmed. The injured victims were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, while efforts were underway to evacuate the bodies.


Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin sympathized with the families of the deceased and cautioned against transporting highly flammable items in passenger vehicles, stressing the importance of safety precautions while traveling.
