 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.   Boxing heavyweight legend George Foreman has died aged 76 as a devout preacher


 Foreman was born in Marshall, Texas, on 10 January 1949, and raised along with six siblings by a single mother 


 Foreman won the heavyweight gold medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, aged 19, before turning pro and winning 37 consecutive matches.


His legendary rivalry with Muhammad Ali culminated in the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ title bout in October 1974 in Zaire now Congo Kinshasa.

 

He fought in two of the most iconic boxing events of all time, taking on Joe Frazier in 'The Fight of the Century' in 1971 and then Muhammad Ali in 'The Rumble in the Jungle' in 1974.


 ‘Big George’ reigned as world champion twice during a storied career at the top – once as America’s most feared young fighter and then again as the oldest champion in history 21 years apart.


 The hard-hitting heavyweight was outclassed by Muhammad Ali in 1974, losing his first world title and retiring from the sport three years later. In need of money after almost becoming homeless, he returned to the sport a decade later and would soon mount another title charge, making history in 1994 when he beat Michael Moorer.


 George Foreman Grill, was a market hit in 1994 "Lean Mean Grilling Machine".


 Foreman has/had a dozen children. Five of his sons are named George.
