The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation.  Nigeria’s Power Generation Reaches 5,713MW – TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that the country's power generation hit 5,713.60 megawatts on Tuesday, marking the highest output in four years.

In a statement, the TCN confirmed that the new peak generation for 2025 was successfully transmitted, surpassing the 5,543MW recorded on February 14.

“This milestone was achieved on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 21:30 hours, exceeding the previous peak of 5,543.20MW by 170.40MW,” the statement read.

While this figure remains 88MW below the all-time high of 5,801.60MW recorded on March 1, 2021, the TCN described it as a significant achievement.

Additionally, the maximum daily energy supply reached a record 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh), surpassing the previous high of 125,159.48MWh recorded on February 14 by 382.58MWh.

Despite earlier assurances from Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu that generation would reach 6,000MW by December 2024, factors such as vandalism, grid failures, and inadequate infrastructure hindered this goal. Currently, more than 50% of Nigerians still lack access to electricity.
