The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the first group of intending pilgrims will depart Ilorin International Airport for Saudi Arabia on May 12.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, disclosed this on Sunday during a sensitisation programme for 2025 pilgrims in Ilorin. He added that the second, third, and fourth batches would leave on May 14, 16, and 17 respectively.
Abdulkadir confirmed that accommodation and catering arrangements have been finalised in Saudi Arabia. He also outlined that vaccines will be distributed on April 28, uniforms on April 30, and travel bags on May 1.
Pilgrims who paid over N8.4 million in Hajj fees will receive refunds after the pilgrimage, he said, noting that visas for all 2,174 intending pilgrims have already been processed.
Meanwhile, Justice Abdul-Lateef Kamaldeen, Grand Khadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, urged the pilgrims to approach the Hajj with reverence and patience during a lecture at the event. Key stakeholders, including former Executive Secretary Alh. Mohammed Tunde-Jimoh, were also present.
