 Chris Brown Avoids Jail After London Nightclub Attack, Gets 8-Month Suspended Sentence Chris Brown will not be going to prison for now after a London court sentenced him over a nightclub attack that left music producer Abraham Diaw injured. The American singer, 37, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, October 26, receiving eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months. His co-defendant, rapper HoodyBaby, whose real name is Omololu Akinlolu, 40, received a four-month suspended sentence, also for 12 months. Both were ordered to pay £1,500 in costs. The case dates back to February 19, 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown admitted attacking Diaw with a tequila bottle. CCTV footage showed the producer being struck twice on the head, hit on the shoulder, chased, pushed to the floor and kicked while down.  Retire, stop watering down your brand with wack music – Tolanibaj tells Afrobeats legends


Reality TV star and disc jockey Tolanibaj has urged Afrobeats legends who have run out of ideas or lost their melodies to consider retiring.

She explained that there is no shame in retirement, emphasising that they should stop watering down their brand with wack music as they are doing now.

She made the call amid the widespread criticisms that have greeted Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy’s new releases, especially among opposing fans on social media.

Speaking in a video message shared via her TikTok page, Tolanibaj said, “Why is it that Nigerian artists don’t know when to evolve or completely transition into business?

“I feel like if your sound no longer resonates with your fans or your audience, [you should] go into business. If you have built an amazing legacy, why do you constantly allow the disrespect of being compared to the new generational artists? What’s wrong with becoming a music executive where you shine light on the new generational artists and become a boss?

“Olamide and Don Jazzy are perfect examples of whom OG artists need to embody. Stop allowing yourself to be disrespected. There are a lot of artists on this table. Please, do better. There is no shame in retiring. Stop dropping nonsense music to water down your brand, especially if your catalogue in the past is A1. I would rather you not even drop music at all and become a lifestyle influencer.”
