 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  Man, 40, arraigned in Ekiti over alleged theft of goats


Mr Oriyomi said that the defendant and others now at large stole five goats valued at N600, 000.


A 40-year-old man, Olarewaju Mustapha, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing goats.


Mustapha of no fixed address is standing trial on a charge of stealing.


He however pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.


The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large committed the offence on May 1 at about 10 p.m., at Ipole Iloro- Ekiti.


Mr Oriyomi said that the defendant and others now at large stole five goats valued at N600, 000.


He said that the defendant was apprehended by the community and handed to the police.


He said the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.


The prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.


Counsel to the defendant, Michael Olaleye, urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.


The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.


He adjourned the case until June 2 for hearing.
