A 13-year-old boy lost his life after he was attacked by three large dogs while riding his bicycle. This tragic incident occurred January 3rd on the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road in Welshtown, Nova Scotia, Canada.  On that day, 13-year-old Drew Nickerson, was enjoying the day by riding his bike through the neighborhood.  OTCI RESOLVES MANDATE ISSUES BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

The Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (OTCI) has successfully resolved contentious overlapping functions between the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development (MWID) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) on mandate delineation.

Speaking at a Stakeholders' Engagement held recently in Alausa,

Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, Director-General of OTCI, said the meeting was convened to resolve the lingering mandate overlap between the two Ministries, especially concerning their individual responsibilities relating to Dredging and Mining across the State.

According to her, there was a need to establish a clear delineation of responsibilities on dredging, mining, and mineral resources. Delineation, she said, will not only enhance efficient governance but also prevent future conflicts between the two Ministries.

Anjous-Ademuyiwa emphasised the Office's role in ensuring seamless governance and removing obstacles to progress, stressing that through collaborative dialogue to foster clarity, a resolution became necessary to empower both Ministries for effective delivery of their mandates.

Key resolutions were reached during the engagement, which witnessed presentations and in-depth discussions for a more streamlined governance structure.

Some of the immediate resolutions reached included the establishment of boundary limitations and the coordination of dredging efforts. The process will be supervised by the OTCI to ensure compliance by both Ministries and facilitate a smooth transition.

Anjous-Ademuyiwa expressed confidence that the resolutions will enhance the collaboration and operational efficiency of MWID and MEMR, reiterating OTCI’s commitment to ensuring effective monitoring and support.

"The success of the meeting represents a significant step towards strengthening governance and promoting sustainable development in Lagos State," she said.
