So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

First Lady Defends Tinubu’s Support for Gov. Mbah, Highlights Educational Milestone in Enugu

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has clarified President Bola Tinubu’s backing of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration in Enugu, emphasizing her husband’s preference for leaders who wisely utilize public funds for the public’s benefit. The statement came during the commissioning of the Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College, GTC, Enugu, on the sidelines of her recent two-day working visit to the state.

The TVET College, a transformative project, replaced a dilapidated Government Technical College demolished 11 months ago. The new facility boasts 24 ultra-modern skill training centers, massive hostels for 1,000 students, and two Smart Green Schools, reflecting Governor Mbah’s vision for educational advancement.

Speaking at the event, Senator Tinubu praised the increased federal allocations under her husband’s administration and urged leaders to invest these resources wisely. “I am really excited. Like some critics say, Mr. President supports the governor here. Your allocation has tripled. The president will be happy to associate with those using the nation’s resources judiciously. This is part of it,” she said, adding, “Enugu’s slogan, ‘Tomorrow is Here,’ is indeed coming to life, offering a glimpse of a better future for our children and generations to come.”

Governor Mbah described the TVET College as the first of eight planned across Enugu’s federal constituencies, aimed at equipping youth with skills for the future. He highlighted a shift from rote learning to experiential education, asserting that a nation’s greatness hinges on its human capital. “Today marks a launch into our vision to transform education in Enugu State,” he noted, thanking the First Lady for commissioning the project.

Prof. Ndubueze Mbah, the Commissioner for Education, detailed the facility’s offerings, including an ICT and Digital Innovation Hub, Renewable Energy, Welding and Fabrication, and Hospitality Training centers, supported by modern hostels. He emphasized the project’s role in transitioning students from Smart Green Schools into a skilled workforce.

This support echoes President Tinubu’s earlier remarks during his January 4 visit to Enugu, where he lauded Governor Mbah’s performance, stating, “He is doing a fantastic job. The election is over, and we must move the nation forward. I don’t care which party you come from. You are my friend and very focused.”
