 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  LASG OFFICIALS INSPECT NEWLY CONSTRUCTED ROAD IN AMIKANLE 


A team of officials from the Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit of the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, the Technical Department, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development and Centre for Rural Development (CERUD) recently carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the newly constructed Erelu Way/Dayo Eleku/Community Link Road in Amikanle, Agbado Okeodo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).


The 1.3 km road, which is part of the massive infrastructural renewal of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's administration, is to enhance easy access, facilitate rapid socioeconomic development, attract new investments, make travel more convenient and safer, and promote the assets and general well-being of the people living in the community.


The inspection of the road is aimed at determining the technical quality, compliance with job specifications, environmental resilience, value for money, aesthetics, and such other conditions that support the suitability and readiness of the road for official commissioning. 


The team, led by Arc. Awoyemi Yusuf, a Deputy Director from the Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit, was received by the representative of the contractor that handled the project, officials of the Community Development Association (CDA) and some residents of the community. 


Following some observations made by the visiting team, the contractor, the CDA and the residents agreed to work together to carry out speedy remedial actions to improve the condition of the road in readiness for its official commissioning.

(Civil); Mr. Edward Noghese, Chief Technical Officer and Mr. Ogunlana Rowland of the Admin Department, Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit.
