Pastor Paul Adefarasin Under Investigation Over Viral Video, Turns Himself In to Lagos Police

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of House on the Rock Church, has voluntarily presented himself for questioning at the Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja. The development follows a viral video circulating online, which allegedly shows the pastor holding a gun-like object during a roadside encounter, according to a statement posted on the Command’s official X account on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

The video, which sparked widespread debate on social media, depicts Adefarasin holding a metallic object while interacting with a passerby who appeared to be recording the incident. The clip also raised questions about the pastor driving an unregistered vehicle.

The Lagos State Police Command emphasized that “no one is above the law” and confirmed that detectives have launched a full investigation into the matter. The outcome of the investigation will be made public, the statement added.

In response to the allegations, Pastor Adefarasin addressed his congregation via his verified social media pages, denying claims that he brandished a firearm. He described the incident as a misunderstanding, clarifying that the object in question was not a gun and was not pointed at anyone.

The investigation continues as authorities seek to clarify the circumstances surrounding the viral video.
