KADIRS Warns Residents Against Fake Revenue Collectors, Introduces E-Demand Notice As Sole Payment Authorization The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has cautioned taxpayers and residents of Kaduna State against making revenue payments without first obtaining an official E-Demand Notice (Pay Advice), warning that fraudsters may exploit outdated payment processes to defraud the public. In a public announcement issued on Thursday, KADIRS said the move forms part of its ongoing efforts to automate revenue collection and enhance transparency across the state.  The agency disclosed that manual demand notices previously used for Local Government revenue collection have been phased out and are no longer recognized. According to KADIRS, the E-Demand Notice (Pay Advice) has officially replaced the former Local Government Harmonized Demand Notice and is now the only valid document for on-the-spot taxpayer assessment through the state's Central Billing System.  PDP Shifts BoT Meeting to Yar’Adua Centre Amid Police Barricade at Secretariat

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) relocated its Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting from the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza to the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja’s Central Business District on Monday, following a police blockade that prevented BoT members from accessing the secretariat.

The PDP announced the venue change via its official X account, stating, “The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) earlier scheduled to hold by 10am at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja has been moved to Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja.” The party condemned the actions of armed policemen from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, describing their presence as harassment.

Eyewitnesses at the Yar’Adua Centre reported the arrival of BoT members, including Maina Chiroma, who were denied entry to the Wadata Plaza earlier. Umar Tsauri, a former PDP National Secretary, told journalists that the police cited an “order from above” as the reason for barring BoT members from the secretariat.

The incident heightened tensions ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, also scheduled for Monday. The PDP criticized the police action as an attempt to disrupt its activities.

In response, the FCT Police Command clarified that officers were deployed to the secretariat solely to maintain law and order. FCT Police Spokesperson Josephine Adeh stated, “Police officers were only deployed to the venue to ensure public safety in line with their constitutional mandate. At no time was the Secretariat sealed off by the Police.”

The development has sparked concerns about political tensions in the capital as the PDP navigates internal and external challenges ahead of its key meetings.
