Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed.  Wike Dares PDP Critics, Says No One Can Expel Him from Party

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Monday, strongly rebuffed calls for his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that no one has the authority or courage to remove him. Speaking at a media parley in Abuja at 12:55 PM WAT, the former Rivers State governor emphasized his long-standing commitment to the party and challenged his detractors to justify their contributions compared to his.

“I am still in the PDP. I worked hard for the party,” Wike declared. “I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, ‘Wike, you are not a member of the party.’ Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?”

Wike’s comments come amid escalating tensions within the PDP, fueled by concerns over his role in the current administration and his political stance, which some party members view as conflicting with the party’s interests. Despite the criticism, the FCT minister insisted that his loyalty to the PDP remains unshaken and warned that he would not be easily ousted. The ongoing rift highlights deepening divisions within the party as it navigates internal challenges ahead of future political contests.
