El-Rufai To Remain In ICPC Custody As Court Delays Bail Hearing Until June Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai will remain in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) until at least June 2026 after his bail hearing was postponed. Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court adjourned the hearing to the first week of June.  El-Rufai is currently facing an amended nine-count charge involving alleged fraud and abuse of office brought against him by the ICPC.  APC Member Adamu Garba Warns of Sycophants Misleading President Tinubu Amid Party Challenges

Adamu Garba, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aspirant, has accused sycophants surrounding President Bola Tinubu of misleading him into believing that the country and the party are stable, despite evident challenges. Garba made the remarks on Tuesday, addressing growing concerns within the APC.

Speaking on the political landscape, Garba described members of the opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “vultures” ready to exploit the APC’s vulnerabilities, particularly following the controversial resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman. “They (ADC coalition) hope for our loss, and that is why we need to be serious,” Garba stated, urging the party to appoint a leader who is truthful, open to criticism, and free from sycophancy.

He emphasized the need for honest leadership, saying, “There are a lot of sycophants around the president; people are telling him that things are okay – things are not okay.” Garba also highlighted the significant loss of APC membership in northern Nigeria following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as an expected consequence of the leadership vacuum left by Buhari’s passing.

The statement comes at a critical time for the APC as it navigates internal challenges and prepares to counter opposition strategies ahead of the 2027 elections.
