STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   PRESIDENT TINUBU TO EMBARK ON A THREE-NATION TRIP   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2nd, on a visit to Kenya, Rwanda and France.   President Tinubu’s first stop will be in France, after which he will depart for Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.   Co-chaired by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto, the summit focuses on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture, and climate action.   President Tinubu’s participation at the summit from May 11th to May 12th. will underscore Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African nations and the French Republic.   The summit, with the theme  - "Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth" -  will provide a high-level platform for African leaders and their Fr...

  BODIES OF HELICOPTER CRASH VICTIMS IN GHANA RECOVERED

The Ghana Armed Forces has recovered the bodies of eight victims that died in a military Z-9 helicopter crash in the Adansi-Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday morning. 


The air mishap claimed the lives of two federal ministers, military personnel, and aviation experts. The bodies were recovered and flown by a Ghana Air Force helicopter to the Air Force Base in Accra where senior government officials received them.


The names and portfolios of the victims are listed below:


1. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister for Defence


2. ⁠Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment, Science and Technology


3. Muniru Mohammed – Acting deputy, National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture


4. Samuel Sarpong – Vice- Chairman, National Democratic Congress


5. ⁠Samuel Aboagye – Former parliamentary candidate


6. Peter Baafemi Anala – ⁠Squadron leader


7. ⁠Manaen Twum Ampadu – Flying officer


8. ⁠Ernest Addo – Sergeant


Ghanaian President John Mahama ordered that flags be flown at half-mast to mourn the deceased.
