 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has felicitated with distinguished Senator and former Governor, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige, CON, as he celebrates his birthday today.


In his congratulatory remarks, Governor Soludo lauded Senator Ngige, a medical doctor turned politician, as a leader who rendered good services to Anambra State and Nigeria through his various roles in public service. 


He served as Governor of Anambra State from May 2003 to March 2006, during which he initiated development programmes that benefited the people of Anambra State 


Thus, Governor Soludo warmly congratulate Senator Chris Ngige on this special occasion of his birthday and also prays that he enjoys many more years of life in robust health and in continuous service to humanity

In his goodwill message, Governor Soludo commended Chief Obiano, who served as the Governor of Anambra State from March 17, 2014, to March 17, 2022, as a worthy predecessor who made significant impact on the socio-economic progression of our dear state and the people of Anambra State
