 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Obi has lost grip on opposition politics – Deji Adeyanju


Human rights activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju on Sunday hinted that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi may not be the running mate to 2027 presidential hopeful Atiku Abubakar.

Adeyanju said Obi should go and thank God in church if Atiku considers him as his running mate in 2027.

Posting on X, Adeyanju said the North controls opposition politics while President Bola Tinubu controls the South.

He wrote: “In my view, if Obi sees Atiku VP this time, he should rush to church to give testimony.

“He no longer holds any vital card, the Northerner political actors now hold all the aces for 2027 as opposition politics while Tinubu controls the southern chess board.”

Adeyanju also suggested that President Tinubu will emerge victorious in 2027.

“As of today, I see a Tinubu victory in 2027. And I’m not a prophet of doom ooo.

“Bola Tinubu is not Buhari or GEJ. The opposition needs to have a better plan. The Edo election should have taught you all a lesson but it hasn’t apparently,” he wrote.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
