Peacock to join Prime Video under broad Comcast-Amazon agreement

NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, will now be available as an add-on for Prime Video subscribers through a comprehensive deal between Amazon and Comcast.

Under the agreement, Peacock Premium Plus—the ad-free tier—will cost $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year via Prime Video Channels, Amazon’s platform for aggregating streaming services. Prime Video Channels already offers access to services like HBO Max, Paramount+, Starz, and Apple TV+, highlighting its role in driving subscriptions and consolidating billing. While Peacock has previously avoided bundles and channel partnerships, the Amazon arrangement signals a likely shift toward more such deals in the future.

Though Peacock is included in Comcast Xfinity bundles and a deal with Charter Spectrum, this marks its first addition to a major tech platform’s channel offerings. Other platforms such as YouTube and Roku offer similar channel services, while Disney and HBO Max have selectively pursued bundle arrangements. With roughly 41 million subscribers, Peacock remains smaller than many competitors but has increasingly focused on live sports, including adding NBA coverage this fall.

The deal also strengthens Prime Video’s sports lineup, already enhanced by the addition of Fox One, giving subscribers access to four of the five national NFL packages (with ESPN still excluded). Beyond Peacock, the agreement extends distribution partnerships, ensuring continued Peacock availability on Fire TV, Prime Video on Xfinity X1 devices, and continued access to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment films for purchase or rental on Prime Video.

“This multi-faceted set of agreements demonstrates our close collaboration with Amazon, delivering value across our businesses and expanding access to our content,” said Mike Cavanagh, president of Comcast Corporation. “Millions of Amazon customers can now enjoy NBCUniversal shows, films, and live events via Peacock on Fire TV or through Prime Video subscriptions, while also accessing Amazon entertainment on Xfinity X1, making it easier to watch what they love.”

Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, added, “These agreements with Comcast NBCU are fantastic for millions of customers seeking a seamless way to access entertainment and sports in one place. Adding Peacock to our subscriptions and renewing agreements for Fire TV, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, and Xfinity X1 strengthens our partnership with Comcast/NBCU and benefits our shared customers.”
