No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat.  Ron DeSantis proclaims August 1 ‘Hulk Hogan Day’ in Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially declared Friday, August 1, 2025, as "Hulk Hogan Day" to honor the wrestling legend in his home state. In a letter released Thursday, DeSantis announced that state flags will be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and public buildings in Pinellas County to mark the occasion.

Although Hogan was born in Augusta, Georgia, he moved to Tampa at a young age and began his wrestling career in 1977, eventually rising to international fame with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). DeSantis described Hogan as a larger-than-life figure and an icon for generations who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, calling him a “true Floridian through and through.” Hogan passed away recently at the age of 71, with his official cause of death confirmed as a heart attack. Medical records reveal he had a history of atrial fibrillation and was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, though details about the cancer remain unclear. The wrestling community has paid tribute to Hogan since his passing, with WWE holding a 10-bell salute across multiple shows and AEW also honoring him during a recent broadcast. Hogan would have turned 72 on August 11.
