 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Tears As Seven Victims Of Ungwan Rimi Attack Laid To Rest In Kauru


The community of Ungwan Rimi in Kamuru ward was thrown into mourning on Saturday as seven residents killed in last week’s gunmen attack were laid to rest.


Family members, friends, and sympathizers gathered in grief as the victims were buried amid wails and prayers. 


The August 24 assault left seven people dead, several injured, and parts of the community destroyed, marking yet another tragedy in Kaduna’s Kauru Local Government Area.


Community leaders described the burial as a painful reminder of the fragility of life in the face of recurring violence, while many residents expressed anger over what they see as government failure to protect rural communities from incessant attacks.


“The loss of these innocent lives is a wound on our hearts. We can only pray for healing and for God’s mercy on our land,” one mourner said.
