 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Two Suspected Zimbabwean Thieves Arrested With Stolen Ford Ranger En Route to Zimbabwe


Two suspects were arrested after being found with a stolen Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 worth R800 000, which they were allegedly attempting to smuggle into Zimbabwe.


The vehicle was stolen in the early hours of Friday, 15 August 2025, in the Brooklyn area of Pretoria. Intelligence later revealed that it was being driven towards the Beitbridge border.


The Limpopo Tracking Team, working with several security companies, quickly launched an operation. The vehicle was intercepted on the N1 near Botlokwa, and the suspects, aged between 31 and 44, were arrested on the spot.


The swift action prevented the vehicle from crossing the border. It has since been impounded for further investigation.


The suspects are expected to appear before the Sekgosese Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 August 2025.
