 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Group Pays Working Visit to Anambra Commissioner For Industry, Seeks Government Support

The Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu has received members of The Pivot in his office; a platform that nurtures visionary thinking, bold discourse, and collaborative action towards building a just and prosperous society.


The group, led by Barr. Ifedi Nwosu, was in the commissioner’s office on a working visit also to seek partnership and the state government support for its upcoming summit.


They appealed for sponsorship opportunities and a review of the International Conference Centre rates to enable them to use the facility in hosting their programme.


While addressing the visitors, Commissioner Udechukwu assured them of the state government’s readiness to continue supporting ideas that would foster innovation, industrial growth and economic prosperity across the state.


He emphasized that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and youth-led initiatives to thrive, as they are critical to achieving a productive, livable, and prosperous homeland.


Speaking, the leader of The Pivot, Barr. Nwosu reiterated their vision of gathering progressive voices across Africa to drive sustainable change through deep reflection and deliberate action.


The visit ended with both parties agreeing to explore avenues of collaboration that would enhance industrial development and youth empowerment in the state.
