 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Leader of Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos Chief Sunday ideh, makes an appeal to the Governor of Lagos on behalf of Igbo people living in Lagos.


Chief Sunday Ideh, leader of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos, has appealed for stronger ties and inclusiveness between the Lagos State Government and the Igbo people living in the state. Speaking to TVC News.


 Ideh called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to continue treating the Igbo as a vital part of Lagos society, stressing that their large population and economic activities significantly contribute to the state’s development.


“I appeal to our governor to always regard the Igbo people as brothers. Governor Sanwo-Olu is a man who respects and values the Igbo,” Ideh stated, expressing trust in the governor’s commitment to unity"


He noted that the Igbo have long been part of Lagos’s commercial and cultural life, with numerous businesses and families helping to drive the state’s prosperity. Ideh commended Sanwo-Olu for policies that support business growth and urged more collaboration to further strengthen mutual respect and cooperation.


 He reaffirmed the Igbo community’s loyalty to Lagos and promised continued partnership in advancing peace, economic progress, and harmonious coexistence that can serve as an example for the entire country.
