Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal to help pay funeral expenses for four sisters killed in North Carolina house fire

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is helping cover the funeral expenses for four young sisters who died in a house fire in North Carolina.

Kalani, 7, Kendall, 5, Josephina, 3, and Sophia, 2, were killed when flames engulfed their Columbus County home. Two other girls, aged 11, managed to escape. First responders arrived quickly, but the fire was too intense for them to enter safely.

O’Neal joined forces with sheriffs from Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina to pay the full cost of the memorial, easing the financial burden on the grieving family. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia said the collaborative effort “fully covers the expenses associated with honoring the girls, lifting the financial burden from the grieving family.”

The sisters were remembered in their obituary as “bright lights who brought joy to everyone around them,” with individual loves ranging from sunsets and rainbows to pizza and the show Bluey. No adults were home at the time of the fire. The girls’ mother, Reagan Noelle Powers, has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and negligent child abuse with serious bodily injury.
