Shehu Sani Urges Govt To Involve Fulani Community In Security Policy

Former Kaduna Central Senator and human rights activist, Comrade Shehu Sani, has urged the federal government to involve the Fulani community in security policy-making as part of efforts to curb banditry and terrorism in northern Nigeria.

Speaking at the Annual Pulaku Day organized by the National Association of Fulbe Students, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Sani stressed that the violent actions of bandits have unfairly tarnished the image of the Fulani.

“While I commend the government’s efforts in tackling banditry and terrorism, I strongly advocate for engaging the Fulani community in security policymaking to achieve lasting results,” he said.

The former senator also praised ABU students for championing unity among the Fulani and seeking solutions to challenges facing the community.

Sani condemned attacks on both Muslim and Christian communities, urging the Fulani to take a firm stance against banditry and terrorism. He called for decisive action against criminals, regardless of ethnic background, to restore peace.
