 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  TROOPS RESCUE 17 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN KOGI STATE


In its sustained effort to to stem the tide of banditry and other criminal activities in Kogi State, the gallant troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army  with Hybrid Forces and Local Vigilantes have successfully rescued 17 kidnapped victims, including 4 children.

12 Brigade Nigerian Army, says the troops on Wednesday 10th September, 2025 on a Patrol Base at Apata received a credible intelligence of a kidnap incident at Opamaru Village along Obajana–Lokoja Road. The victims who were travelling in a 17-seater bus from Osun State and headed for Abuja, were kidnapped by the criminals. Without delay, the patrol base reinforced by the Brigade Quick Response Group (QRG), immediately mobilized to the scene.


On arrival, the troops discovered a 17-seater bus abandoned by the roadside, completely empty. Employing field craft, the soldiers swiftly trailed the kidnappers to Wuro Village in Adavi Local Government Area, where the troops came in contact with the criminals.


Overpowered by the troops’ superior firepower, the criminals abandoned all 17 kidnapped passengers and fled into the bush with various degrees of gunshot injuries. The rescued victims were immediately evacuated to the 12 Brigade Medical Centre for first aid and stabilization.


It adds, the Nigerian Army has reassured the general public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while urging citizens to continue to support the military with timely information to aid ongoing operations.
