 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates. KANO POLICE COMMAND RECOVERS STOLEN TOYOTA HILUX MOTOR VEHICLE, ARRESTS SUSPECT


The Kano State Police Command is pleased to announce the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of a suspect in connection with the crime. This achievement is a result of the Command's proactive measures and relentless efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property in the State.


2.  On 29th September 2025, a report was received from the owner of a Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration number GWA 998 AR, which had been stolen from Ikeja Road, Fagge LGA, Kano State. The Police operatives attached to the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) swung into action and, through intelligence-led technical operation along Airport Road, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State, arrested one Adama Hassan, a 35-year-old female suspect of Deba LGA,  Gombe State, on 6th October 2025, while attempting to conceal the stolen vehicle en route to Niger Republic.


3.  The suspect has confessed to receiving the vehicle from a male suspect from Lafiyan Lamurde LGA, Adamawa State, who is currently on the run. The Police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspect at and recover more exhibits.


4.  The Kano State Police Command commends the efforts of the officers involved in this operation and appreciates the support of the public in providing valuable information that led to this achievement.
