 Recording Academy adds five new Grammy categories, updates rules for 2026 awards NEW YORK - The Recording Academy is introducing five new categories and making several rule changes for the 2026 Grammy Awards in an effort to reflect the evolving global music landscape. Among the new additions is a best Asian pop music performance category, which will honor performances across genres such as K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and other Asian pop styles, with the award going to performers. A new best traditional pop vocal performance category will recognize artists whose work does not fit within modern pop styles. A best Latin song category will spotlight songwriters for Spanish-language Latin recordings. Changes are also coming to existing categories in R&B and folk music.  Ododo Tasks Citizens on Intelligence Sharing to Strengthen Fight Against Insecurity


Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo  has called on residents of the state to strengthen collaboration with security agencies by providing credible intelligence that will help in winning the ongoing fight against criminal elements in the state.


The Governor made the call over the weekend during a stopover at Gegu community, Kogi Local Government Area where he was warmly received by residents who trooped out to welcome him on his return from national engagements.


Governor Ododo commended members of the Gegu community for their unity, communal spirit, and commitment to peace, describing such values as vital for effective community policing and overall security of the state.


“I appreciate you all for your love, unity, and commitment to peace. Our communities must remain vigilant and work closely with security agencies to keep Kogi safe,” Ododo said.


He urged citizens to promptly report any suspicious movements of individuals or groups whose activities could threaten public safety, stressing that the fight against insecurity requires active participation of everyone.


“If you see something, say something. Intelligence is the lifeline of security, and every citizen has a role to play. We will not allow criminals to take shelter among us,” the Governor stressed.


The Governor emphasized that intelligence sharing between communities and security operatives is crucial to sustaining the gains recorded so far in the state’s security architecture, noting that his administration remains resolute in ensuring that criminal elements find no hiding place in Kogi.


“We have made significant progress in securing our state, and we must not relent. This administration will continue to provide all necessary support to our security agencies to protect lives and property,” he stated.


Governor Ododo, who is on a working visit to Yagba Federal Constituency following recent reports of security concerns in the area, assured citizens that the state government will continue to strengthen logistics and coordination to maintain law and order across all communities in the state. 


The Governor further enjoined traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths to serve as the first line of defence by volunteering timely and accurate information that can aid in crime prevention,  arrest and prosecution of criminals.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
