 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026.  INEC declares Soludo winner of Anambra Gov poll


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo winner of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.

According to the electoral umpire, Soludo, candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) polled 422,664 to defeat his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 99,445. 

The candidate of the Young People Party (YPP), Paul Chukwuma scored 37,753 votes to secure third position while the Labour Party’s candidate, Dr George Moghalu came distant fourth with 10,576 votes.

Announcing the results of the election Sunday morning, State Returning Officer, and Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Prof Edoba Omoregie said Soludo was returned Governor after securing the highest number of votes cast in the exercise.

He said: “I Prof Edoba Omoregie thereby certify that I’m the Returning Officer in the Anambra state governorship election held on November 8, 2025.

“I also certify that the election was keenly contested and that a winner emerged as the candidate with the highest number of votes cast.

“I therefore declare that Soludo Charles Chukwuma of the APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law has scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
