STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

Defence Minister Musa Calls For Unity, Peace In Kaduna

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa Gwabin (retd.), has called on residents of Kaduna State to embrace unity, forgiveness and collective responsibility as key pillars for lasting peace and development.

Musa made the call during a reception organised in his honour at the Atyab Buffet in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

He expressed gratitude to the people of the area for the warm reception and their sustained support and prayers over the years, describing unity as vital to Kaduna State’s progress.

According to him, bitterness and division impede development, while forgiveness and reconciliation foster harmony and shared advancement.

“By focusing on our shared values and common interests, we can work together to build a more peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State,” he said.

The defence minister commended Governor Uba Sani for his efforts at sustaining peace in the state, noting that the governor was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.

He also acknowledged the Paramount Chief of Zangon Kataf Chiefdom, Sir Dominic Yahaya Gambo, for his prayers for lasting peace and for recognising outstanding sons and daughters of the chiefdom.

Musa urged citizens to continue to prioritise unity, reconciliation and service to the state and the nation.

The event, held on December 27, 2025, was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders.
