So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

IMO POLICE ARRESTS FOUR OVER FIREWORKS POSSESSION

The Imo State Police Command has arrested four men for possession and distribution of banned fireworks and various kinds of pyrotechnics within Owerri metropolis.

The command has warned that anyone found in possession or distribution of fireworks will be arrested and prosecuted.

The spokesperson for the Imo State Command, Henry Okoye, made the disclosure in a statement released on Sunday night.

The suspects are 29-year-old Victor Amadi, 31-year-old Moses Okoro, 28-year-old Ebuka Onye, and 23-year-old Isaac Amadi.

According to him, the arrests were made after intelligence-led raids in different parts of Owerri.

Okoye said, "Their arrests followed separate intelligence-led raids conducted at different locations within the Owerri metropolis, during which large quantities of prohibited fireworks and other pyrotechnic items were recovered."

He warned residents against possession of fireworks, knockouts, bangers, and all other forms of explosive devices in the state.

Okoye added, "The Command reiterates the total ban on the use, sale, distribution, and possession of fireworks, knockouts, bangers, and all other forms of explosive devices across Imo State. Any individual found violating this directive will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

"In view of the dangers associated with these banned items, residents, parents, and traders are strongly advised to desist from dealing in them.

"Members of the public are also encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station."

Meanwhile, the Imo State Police Police Command said it remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property and wished all residents a peaceful, safe, and joyful festive season.

The command also advised residents to celebrate responsibly, saying, "Members of the public are urged to celebrate responsibly."
