 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. RIVERS: OPERATIVES ARREST SUSPECTED CAR SNATCHERS, RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLES.(PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE


 RIVERS STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE:


Operatives Arrest Suspected Car Snatchers, Recover Stolen Vehicles.


The Rivers State Police Command has made a remarkable feat in its sustained onslaught against Car theft and snatching in the state. On November 20, 2025, at about 1800hrs, a team of Operatives from the Command's C4I Intelligence Unit, arrested two suspects, Abubakar Abdulsalam 'm' aged 43yrs and Shagari Shehu 'm' aged 35yrs, in connection with the theft of two vehicles.


The Operatives swiftly acted on credible and reliable information, leading to the arrest of the suspects, who were found in possession of the stolen vehicles. 


The recovered vehicles include a white Toyota Hilux with a fake registration number GWA 453 GR and an ash-colour Toyota Corolla with a fake registration number LSD 420 BT. Both vehicles are in Police custody, for discreet  investigation.


The suspects are currently undergoing in-depth investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the theft and the suspects' individual involvement. The Operatives are working to establish the suspects' potential links to any other vehicle-related crimes in the state and arrest of other syndicate members.


The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, psc, mnips, commends the efforts of the Operatives and appreciates the public's continued support in the fight against crime. The Command reassures the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order and urges anyone with information on similar crimes to come forward and assist the Police in its investigations.


The Police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that Rivers State remains a safe and secure place for all residents and visitors alike.
