Stakeholders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaura Federal Constituency have dismissed allegations of maltreatment and unfair distribution of palliatives leveled against a Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the constituency’s representative, Hon. Donatus Mathew Digester.
The rebuttal followed an earlier open letter reportedly written by some APC local government executives, accusing the SLA of disrespect and uneven distribution of fertiliser and Christmas rice meant for party officials in the constituency.
In a rejoinder issued on behalf of “Concerned Stakeholders & Supporters for Effective Representation, Kaura Federal Constituency,” the group described the allegations as “malicious, reckless, and entirely false,” alleging that the claims were circulated on social media by an individual identified as Medad Nickaf.
According to the statement, the authors accused Nickaf of acting out of personal and political motives rather than public interest, claiming he had already benefited from constituency interventions before allegedly turning around to discredit the aide and the lawmaker.
They further alleged that the publication was aimed at creating unnecessary division within the APC ahead of future political contests.
The stakeholders defended the Senior Legislative Aide, stating that he has consistently carried out his duties with integrity, fairness, and openness to all party members and stakeholders in Kaura Local Government Area.
They maintained that there was no record of deliberate maltreatment or exclusion of party executives.
The rejoinder also emphasized that Hon. Donatus Mathew Digester enjoys a cordial and productive relationship with APC executives across the constituency, adding that party structures have always been prioritized in empowerment programs and constituency interventions.
Calling for restraint, the group urged party members to focus on governance, development, and effective representation rather than what they described as “destructive politics.”
They also appealed to the APC leadership to distance itself from the allegations, warning that internal discord could undermine party unity.
The statement concluded by urging party faithful and the public to disregard what it termed “cheap blackmail” and to continue supporting the lawmaker’s agenda for development in Kaura Federal Constituency, while reaffirming commitment to unity and progress within the APC.
