🇳🇴 Daniel Daga Sentenced by Norwegian Court, Appeals Verdict Molde FK midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The Nigerian midfielder joined Molde FK from Enyimba just a year ago as one of the promising young talents to move from the NPFL to Europe. Molde FK have also confirmed that the midfielder will not be included in the club’s matchday squad until further notice while the legal process continues.

THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA HAS PUT ON HOLD THE BAIL GRANTED TO FORMER BJP LEGISLATOR KULDEEP SINGH SENGAR IN THE 2017 UNNAO RAPE CASE.(PHOTO).

The Supreme Court of India has put on hold the bail granted to former BJP legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case.

The apex court will continue hearing the matter in January, effectively pausing the relief given to Sengar by the Delhi High Court last month.

The Supreme Court is examining a petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation challenging the Delhi High Court order that suspended Sengar’s life sentence. On December 23, the High Court had cited the fact that Sengar had already spent over seven years in prison while granting the suspension of sentence.

Sengar was convicted for the kidnapping and r&pe of a minor survivor in Unnao, a case that had triggered nationwide outrage and raised serious questions about the misuse of political power. The life sentence was awarded after a trial monitored closely by the judiciary due to the sensitivity of the case.

Despite the High Court’s order, Sengar continues to remain behind bars as he is also serving a separate ten year sentence in the custodial death case of the survivor’s father. Bail has not been granted to him in that matter.

The Supreme Court’s decision to pause the bail has been seen as a significant development, reflecting continued judicial scrutiny in one of the country’s most closely watched criminal cases. The outcome of the January hearing is expected to have a decisive impact on the future course of the proceedings.
