Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Tyler Perry’s accuser sent messages of thanks and friendship years after alleged assault

Text messages reveal that Tyler Perry and actor Mario Rodriguez, who recently accused the filmmaker of sexual assault, stayed in touch years after Rodriguez claims their interactions ended.

Rodriguez’s lawsuit, filed last week in California, alleges that Perry assaulted him during encounters from 2014 to 2019. The suit states Rodriguez ended contact in 2019, though Perry continued reaching out sporadically. Screenshots of messages obtained by news outlets show Rodriguez initiating contact with Perry as recently as Thanksgiving 2024 and again on August 31, 2025, expressing gratitude, friendship, and financial struggles.

In one Thanksgiving message, Rodriguez thanked Perry for his support during difficult times and said he appreciated him “to the moon.” In messages from August 31, Rodriguez described ongoing health issues, lack of insurance, and fear over financial hardships. The messages were provided by a source close to the situation who spoke anonymously.

Perry’s attorney, Alex Spiro, disputed the claims. “I said it before, and I will say it again. This is nothing but a $77 million money grab scam,” he said.

Rodriguez’s lawsuit seeks at least $77 million in damages and accuses Perry of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Perry has denied the allegations.

This suit comes after a separate June case by actor Derek Dixon, who alleged Perry groped him while working on Perry’s television shows. That case was originally filed in California and later moved to federal court in Georgia. Perry has denied Dixon’s allegations as well.

Rodriguez’s attorney did not comment on the text messages when contacted.
