The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. A LAGOS-BASED FATHER, IDENTIFIED AS ERIC E, HAS DEMANDED ANSWERS FROM HEALTH AUTHORITIES AFTER HIS SEVERAL-MONTHS-OLD TWIN BOYS REPORTEDLY DIED HOURS AFTER RECEIVING ROUTINE IMMUNISATIONS AT A PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CENTRE IN THE STATE.(PHOTO).

A Lagos-based father, identified as Eric E, has demanded answers from health authorities after his several-months-old twin boys reportedly died hours after receiving routine immunisations at a primary healthcare centre in the state.

According to information shared by the grieving parent on social media, the twins were taken to the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre in Ojo area of Lagos State on December 24, 2025, for routine childhood vaccinations, including the pentavalent and pneumococcal vaccines.

Eric E alleged that shortly after the injections, the babies developed high fevers and became extremely weak. He said health workers at the facility advised the parents to administer paracetamol if the fever persisted at home. The parents reportedly followed the instruction and also bathed the infants in cold water in an attempt to reduce their temperature.

However, in the early hours of December 25, the twins’ condition reportedly worsened, and they later passed away.

In an emotional post accompanied by a video, the father questioned the safety and handling of the vaccines administered to his children, expressing suspicion over possible overdose or the use of counterfeit vaccines. He called on the Lagos State Government and relevant health authorities to investigate the incident and ensure accountability.

“As a father, I am seeking justice for my twins,” he said, adding that no family should have to endure such a loss after a routine medical procedure.

As of the time of filing this report, no official cause of death has been established. The Lagos State Ministry of Health and the management of the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre have not issued a formal statement on the incident.

The case has sparked intense reactions online, reigniting public debate around vaccine safety, healthcare delivery, and trust in public health institutions in Nigeria. Health experts have repeatedly maintained that routine childhood immunisations are generally safe and critical for preventing deadly diseases, while also acknowledging the need for proper vaccine storage, administration, and post-immunisation monitoring.

Authorities are yet to confirm whether an investigation has commenced into the reported deaths.
