LASG ADVISES INTENDING CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS ON SPIRITUAL REJUVENATION

The Lagos State Government has urged Christian intending pilgrims to stay focused during the upcoming pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, considering it a period for spiritual rejuvenation.

Speaking at a one-day orientation seminar, held recently at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, the  Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs, Adewunmi Gbolahan Ogunsanya, stated that the seminar aimed to educate pilgrims on their roles and advise them in preparation for the pilgrimage ahead.

Ogunsanya urged the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and country, emphasising that unity was crucial for a successful journey.

Board Secretary Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi Ph.D. emphasised the spiritual nature of the journey, saying, "You must be intentional to avoid distractions." Okudero advised pilgrims to dress modestly, eat moderately, stay with their groups, obey the laws of the holy lands, follow tour guides' instructions, maintain good conduct, and prioritise prayer.

The operation staff, which included clerks, media, medical, and administrative teams, were taken through their roles and responsibilities. Okudero further commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his support and the State  Government for creating a viable platform for a smooth pilgrimage journey.

The first batch of 2025 intending pilgrims will depart on January 31, 2026, and the second batch in February.
