Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Prince Harry, Liz Hurley, and Sadie Frost attend London High Court for landmark privacy lawsuit against Daily Mail publisher

Prince Harry, along with actresses Liz Hurley and Sadie Frost, arrived at London’s High Court on Monday for the start of a high-profile privacy trial against the publishers of The Daily Mail. The case, expected to last several weeks, also involves claimants including Elton John, his husband David Furnish, and campaigner Doreen Lawrence.

The group alleges they were victims of serious invasions of privacy, including the use of private investigators to eavesdrop on phone calls, bribing police with connections to investigators for confidential information, impersonating individuals to access medical records, and manipulating bank accounts through illicit means. Associated Newspapers, publisher of The Daily Mail, denied the claims, calling them “preposterous smears” intended to link the paper to phone hacking scandals from decades ago. Harry, who resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Meghan Markle, is not scheduled to give evidence until Thursday. This trial follows years of legal battles over press intrusion, including past victories against News Group Newspapers and Mirror Group Newspapers, and is widely regarded as one of the most significant media cases in recent years.
