 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration.  UNIZIK POSTPONES MATRICULATION CEREMONY TILL FEBRUARY 13TH 2026


Nnamdi Azikiwe University has officially postponed its 2206 matriculation which was earlier scheduled to take place on Friday 23rd of January 2026, to Friday 13th February 2026 by 10am, a three-week shift.


This was made known through an official statement released today January 19th 2026, and signed by the Registrar Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke.
