 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Kano APC Unites as Stakeholders Affirm New State Executive


The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has recorded a major milestone as key stakeholders across the state affirmed and endorsed the newly elected State Executive Committee of the party.


This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday.


Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, and the former National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, congratulated the new executives and described their emergence as a major step towards strengthening unity and stability within the party in Kano State.


They commended party members for conducting a peaceful and successful congress, noting that the outcome reflects the collective will of APC supporters across the state.


Prominent stakeholders, including Murtala Sule Garo, Tijjani Gwarzo, and Abba Kabir Bichi, alongside other party leaders, pledged their full support to the new State Executive Committee.


The stakeholders emphasized the need for reconciliation, cooperation and collective responsibility in order to reposition the party for future electoral success in Kano State.


They urged the newly elected executives to carry all members along and ensure fairness, transparency and inclusiveness in the conduct of party affairs.


According to them, the unity displayed during the affirmation process sends a strong signal that the APC in Kano State is now more focused and determined to work as one family.


The stakeholders further called on party members at all levels to rally behind the new leadership for the progress and growth of the party.
